Scott Soars Along Skyline Speedway Top Side For Night #2 Of Heritage Weekend!

(Middlebourne, WV) Another great night of racing weather awaited the Reneagdes of Dirt Modified Tour for night #2 of the 14th Annual “Heritage 101” weekend. Twenty-eight touring modifieds signed in to do battle at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH. Once more a large collection of states would make up the talented field as the race continues for the weekends top prize, a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle presented by S & P Harley-Davidson of Williamstown, WV.

When action got underway for the evenings activiteis it was last nights winner who would once more top the field, timing in at 13.352 seconds. Heat race #1 would see Jacob Hawkins continue his reign of speed earning the win with Rich Michael and KC Burdette in tow. Heat #2 would witness Shon Flanary grab the point and win followed by Jesse Wisecarver and Johnny Scott. The last and final heat of the evening would see Taylor Cook take the checkers ahead of Kyle Bond and Mike McPherson.

One B-Main would transfer three more participants into the main event with Ripley, WV’s Robert Garnes taking the checkered flag. Following Garnes to the stripe would be a pair of local hotshoes in Jeremy Blake and Jeremy Jarvis. Receiving the events Renegades of Dirt point provisionals were Kevin Miller and Kyle Strickler.

When the second Arizona Sport Shirts A-Main of the season rolled on to the speedawy it was another solid contingent ready to duke it out on a track with plenty of character including a top cushion by the wall, a lower lane around the infield, and an assortment of speed bumps throughout. The culmination created yet another exciting night of unexpected events in the thirty-three lap main event. Jacob Hawkins and Taylor Cook led the field to green with Hawkins earning the early point and setting a torrid pace around the 3/8’s oval. Hawkins quickly began to put cars a lap down until misfortune doomed the leader. Hawkins racing hard into turn four would collect Kyle Bond causing the duo to spin to a spot forcing Hawkins to rejoin at the rear of the lead lap.

Meanwhile, while Hawkins was on a rail so to was Las Cruces, New Mexico’s, Johnny Scott who stormed from hist eight starting spot up to second at the time of the caution. Kyle Strickler of Mooresville, NC was also making his charge to the front using up every inch of the speedway to advance from 20th up to 4th at the caution. When the green linen waved it was Johnny who would begin distancing himself from the rest of the field as Wisecarver, Burdette, and Strickler battled for valuable points positions.

However, in the late stages no one had anything for Scott who would gain breathing room riding the extreme high line of the speedway to his advantage. The Rancho Milagro Racing, Allgayer Inc., Mesilla Valley Transport, Lethal Chassis would take it’s first ever trip to Renegades of Dirt victory lane but not without battle scars from the efforts with the cushion and concrete barriers. The victory will vault Johnny into a duel with Hawkins among others for the Harley tomorrow night at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH.

Full results will be posted throughout the weekend on the tours website at www.renegadesofdirt.com. Nightly updates can also be seen on the Renegades of Dirt Facebook page. The tour will see it’s last action of the Heritage weekend tonight at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH for night #3. One racer will have the ultimate choice, a new Harley or $10,101 in cash.
