Open Wheel Championship At Atomic Speedway: Night Three (Final): By Tyler French

Another cool night at Atomic Speedway brought forth plenty action, with a solid field of cars signed into the pits. Starting early in the night. Once again it was “The Outlaw” Jesse Wisecarver setting fast time in qualifying, with a lap time just .07 seconds off the track record.

In the first heat, it was Wisecarver continuing his dominance and picking up the win over John Burdette, Jason Brookover, and Dave Jamison.

The second heat saw Taylor Cook take the victory over DJ Cline, Scott Peltz, and Kenny Johnson.

Heat three was Craig Christian taking the win over Mark Dickson, Evan Seitz, and Aaron Pendleton.

In the fourth and final heat brought a victory for Jess Hartman, over Rick Auckland, Greg Oliver, and Dave Pinkerton.

In the feature, it was all Jesse Wisecarver, jumping from the second row on the first lap and leading the entire event. With a power move on the first lap, splitting the front row, he was able to use the top side of the track for the remainder of the event to dominate the field.

Jesse would go on to be crowned the Open Wheel Championship Weekend Champion. A dominating weekend for the Zanesville veteran to say the least, as he set fast time every night, winning 2 of 3 events, and finishing second the only night he didn’t win.
